Editor-in-Chief: Professor Sufin Yap

Sufin Yap is Consultant Paediatrician in Metabolic Medicine at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, UK, a position she has held since 2012. From 2002, she was Consultant Metabolic Paediatrician at the National Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders (NCIMD), Dublin, Ireland, and from 2007, Professor of Paediatrics (Inherited Metabolic Disorders) and Consultant Metabolic Paediatrician, Faculty of Medicine and University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Professor Yap is an advocate of very high standards of patient care in the area of inborn errors of metabolism (IEMs), especially the importance of early detection and commencement of treatment in preventing major complications. She has authored over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, national protocols and abstracts, as well as speaking at over 130 professional meetings.
Professor Yap is currently lead investigator of the PROTECT study (PRospective Observational study of long-TErm Carglumic acid for the Treatment of PA and MMA). Other research interests include work on the vascular component of homocystinuria and inherited thrombophilia aimed at evaluating current treatment regimens in reducing vascular risk.

Consultant Paediatrician at the Paediatric Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases Unit at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid, Spain, specialising in metabolic disorders and nutritional support of children with different clinical conditions.
Dr Moráis López has extensive experience in the treatment of patients with organic acidaemias. She is a regular guest speaker at congresses and symposia, where she speaks about her experiences treating and managing organic acidaemias from paediatric, nutritional and dietetic perspectives.
